Event Diseño + Tecnología 2012 , invites students, teachers and researchers to propose papers and demonstrations for their presentation during the event. The central topic of this year's edition, will be the synergy between design and technology. Understanding the use of new media of expression in design, arts, and music as a result of inter-disciplinary relations and cooperation between arts, science and technology.

As a special event, session of papers and demonstrations named FLAMIM~, dedicated to design and the use of interfaces for music and sound, will take place.

Suggested topics for authors are:

• Tools

New Software used in creative processes.
New plugins or scripts for use in design or art software.
Programming environments for creative processes.
New physical tools, applied in creative processes.

• Designing for new technologies

Industrial Design for mobile devices.
Diseño de aplicaciones para dispositivos móviles.

• Diseño y tecnología para el espacio público y las personas

Dispositivos para interacción en el espacio público.
Design projects for social inclusion.
Cognitive and perceptive factors in design of new interfaces.

• Applied technology in design education

Use of technology in design classrooms.
Use of technology in music and arts classrooms.

• Musical and Artistic interfaces

New interfaces for musical or artistic expression.
Experiences with controllers in musical or artistic performance.
New interfaces for education or entertainment.
Sound design for videogames or mobile devices.
Social impact of new interfaces and controllers in music and arts.

Papers will be received in any of these topics, in two categories:

• Full Papers:

Maximum length of six pages for oral presentation in the event, accompanied or not, to author's criterion, by a demonstration of the functional project.

• Demonstration:

Maximum length of two pages, for a physical showing of the functional project.

• Reception and Acceptance of papers

All contributions must be sent through the Open Conference System (http://www.icesi.edu.co/disenomas). All users must be signed up in this platform before sending their articles. For any doubts or consultations, sent an e-mail with your query to:

Papers will be received up to June 1st of 2012. Notifications of acceptance will be sent to authors on June 30 - 2012, or before. Author's must send their final papers, including any adjustments required by the evaluation process, up to July 30 – 2012.

Every piece of work, must be presented according to guidelines, shown in Author's Guide, published in the event's site in OCS and will be evaluated by academic peers, and member's from the event's scientific committee.

Any work received outside of the proposed deadlines, will not be considered.

Every accepted paper, will be shown in the event, as oral presentation and/or demonstration. Accepted papers will also be included in "Memorias, Diseño+ 2012, Diseño + Tecnología", a publication which will be delivered in electronic format to all participants of the event, and in physical format, based on demand, with costs covered by those interested.
