Diana Margarita has been a university lecturer for 19 years. She studied psychology at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, a Specialization program in Marketing at Universidad Autónoma de Occidente and a Master’s in Education at Universidad Icesi. She is currently doing a PhD in Applied Linguistics at the University of Leicester in England. She taught at the Universidad Autónoma de Occidente in Cali for 10 years and 14 years ago started teaching at Universidad Icesi. She has been a lecturer in undergraduate and graduate programs of courses in English, psychological processes, learning theories, psycholinguistics, among others. Her research interests are related to psychological factors associated with teaching and learning. Issues such as emotions, learning strategies, motivation and anxiety and their relation to teaching and learning are some of the topics she researches on. She worked as the Head of the Foreign Language Department for 8 years and since 2018 she was appointed as the Director of Graduate Studies in Education at Icesi.
