Resumo

El ambiente económico actual le plantea a las empresas la necesidad de actuar en el contexto de redesempresariales, dada su influencia sobre la competitividad empresarial, particularmente en las pymes, ysu contribución al desarrollo regional. Esto ha suscitado interés en los investigadores por estudiar estasredes y su influencia en el desempe˜no de las empresas. De acuerdo con lo anterior, el presente trabajoevalúa la incidencia que tienen las relaciones entre las empresas e instituciones sobre la innovaciónempresarial en el departamento de Caldas (Colombia). El trabajo es empírico y los datos son tratadoscon modelos econométricos (modelos logit). Los resultados indican que los vínculos entre empresas paraejecutar actividades de I&D y transferencia tecnológica y de conocimientos, en el contexto de redesempresariales, influyen positivamente sobre la I&D y la innovación en la empresa.
