Trust is one of the critical success factors for organizational improvement. Several authors present trust models, but they are based on proper characteristics belonging to every particular problem. However, on analyzing these works by using a state-of-the-art review methodology, we can find similarities that might allow generalization. By this reason, in this article we review the state of the art in trust at the organizational level. We also summarize the results of such review. The research goal is establishing common ground elements under the “trust” concept. As a future work, we plan to formulate a unified model of trust. Some elements like trustee, trustor, and trust factors are shown as results of this state-of-the-art review.
