Abstract

This article review shows the state of the art and the relation between identification systems (bar code and radiofrequency) with the supply chain management, in significant applications worldwide and in Colombian industry, through book analysis, papers and existent studies cases. To do this, compile general concepts of identification systems, emphasizing the bar code and radio frequency, there are definitions, hardware / software, their applications in the supply chain and use large, medium and give small businesses in the country. Putting in evidence the importance of these technologies to improve performance, streamline operations, reduce costs, facilitate traceability and streamlining information flows in the supply chain.
